Who We Are

Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work feels faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion.

Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, humanity, and building things that last — not just shipping the next feature, but setting a standard for how modern teams (with humans and agents working together) think and execute.

About The Role

Notion is hiring a Professional Services Solutions Consultant in Tokyo, Japan. The Professional Services team helps customers unlock the full value of Notion. We partner with organizations to redesign how work gets done, streamlining processes, scaling adoption, and embedding Notion AI and Agents as force multipliers. Working closely with customers, cross-functional teams, and strategic partners, we turn business challenges into tailored Notion solutions that drive productivity, accelerate outcomes, and create lasting impact.

This role will be a part of the growing global professional services team and will be responsible for both pre-sales (e.g. scoping & selling PS engagements), post-sales (e.g. engagement delivery) and onboarding/working with our delivery partners in region. As Notion continues to grow, we need to provide customers with the right resources to ensure they are successful in adopting our technology across all stages of their journey — onboarding, implementation, expansion, and optimization. The professional services team will play a key role in making this happen.

As the Professional Services Consultant, you will be part of the GTM organization and report to the Professional Services Lead for Japan. You will work closely with other leaders on Notion’s GTM team in APACx, as well as cross-functional organizations on building our professional services team and strategy. This is across all phases of the customer life cycle for professional services, from scoping & delivering engagements through operational processes (e.g.: KPIs, reporting).

Our ideal candidate is a builder. Ideally they have worked in net-new functions and built client-services capabilities with minimal support, are experienced with partner ecosystems, and comfortable scoping & delivering engagements while we build the services capability. A bonus is if the candidate has experience using Notion.

What You'll Achieve

  • Design and implement tailored customer workspaces, optimizing workflows, permissions, security, and best practices

  • Develop and execute change management strategies to drive seamless adoption across organizations

  • Lead end-to-end professional services engagements, from scoping and discovery through execution and delivery

  • Manage project execution, maintaining comprehensive documentation, timelines, and key deliverables

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive customer success and contribute to product development

  • Travel when needed to customer and/or partner office locations

Skills You'll Need to Bring

  • 4-6+ years of experience in technical consulting, implementation, or customer-facing roles, ideally with a mix of pre- and post-sale experience

  • Proven success in delivering customer implementations and ensuring long-term adoption

  • Experience with SaaS platforms, including technical concepts and integrations

  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills to design effective and scalable solutions

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously

  • Expertise in change management and driving user adoption

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and ability to build strong relationships at all levels

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, with the ability to simplify complex concepts

  • You are a builder who likes to create new processes and scale programs from their infancy

  • You operate with pace and tempo, focusing on shipping & iterating as you learn

  • You are a cross functional partner who works well with folks inside and outside GTM

  • Written and spoken Japanese fluency to communicate directly with external customers, partners, and internal teams

  • You don’t need to be an AI expert, but you’re curious and willing to adopt AI tools to work smarter and deliver better results.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience using Notion

  • Experience in workspace design and information architecture

  • Familiarity with data migration tools and methodologies

  • Understanding of API integrations and enterprise software ecosystems to support connectivity and automation

  • Experience working with third-party integrations for IAM/SSO, DLP or SIEM

  • Coding experience that would enable you to write basic scripts using the Notion API

  • Knowledge of EPD/Marketing Teams needs or previous experience at a SaaS/Tech company

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-growth technology environment

  • Business level English proficiency to communicate effectively with global stakeholders and peers

  • Experience working with Japanese enterprise customers or familiarity with Japan market dynamics and business practices

A Note on AI

You don’t need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect every Notino to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement — when that’s the case, we’ll make it explicit in the qualifications. People who thrive here don’t treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, move faster, and build more creatively.

Equal Opportunity & Accommodations

We hire talented and passionate people from a variety of backgrounds because we want our teams to reflect the wide diversity of our customers. If you’re excited about a role but your experience doesn’t align perfectly with every bullet point listed, we still encourage you to apply.
